No bathroom counter either! A room for two or three women had to spread their bathroom stuff out on the dressers! Also, outdated with moldy calling - Grouse! If you want to stay in a regular hotel with better accommodations, you will be considered “”off campus guests” and will not get access to the chapel. ROOMS: Unless you are part of a group who has a nice newer room for as many years as you like (and it can be under a church name with different women each year too - I think next year I am going to join one of these churches for the weekend to get a better room), everyone else is stuck with mediocre rooms or ones very outdated with NO PRIVACY to the public looking in your room! Noisy pipes hurt ears, showers cold if you were not lucky to get up in time to get a warm shower. Meeting several ladies that were stuck in the nose bleed section and had hearing or eyesight issues. BOTH TIMES (different women too!) said “so what” or shrugged their shoulders and saved them anyway. When I mentioned something to these women saving seats for their groups (I did twice - “saving seats us not fair and against the rules”. This made it hard for solo visitors (or small groups of 2) that waited inline for a good seat to still get a mediocre seat. I mean, some were saving groups whole rows in the chapel for their groups that were late to the service. so in cool and selfish! I was appalled and shocked at how selfish some of the women who attended were. The guest speaker and food was EXCELLENT! Everything else VERY BAD!! SAVING SEATS. But there was nothing when I attended in late July.… There is now a Covid link on their website and notes regarding following CDC and Oregon Dept of Health guidelines. Strange they would accept Fed money, but refuse to follow CDC guidelines. And just to be clear, they accepts PPP from Federal Government to stay afloat. And, not surprisingly, they sent me a request for funds to help out in Covid. Until CBCC changes their tune and corrects their faulty theology, I don't want anything to do with it. Had Jesus asserted his rights and made his own choice, there would be no Christianity or Church at all. We DON'T have right rights as Christians we give them up.

I have a choice not to financially support or volunteer my time and labor or drive 15 hours round trip to expose myself to this type of crazy thinking, which in my book, doesn't line up with any Christian or Christ teaching on 'looking out for the best interests of others', 'giving up your rights as a believer'.

Does that mean they are pro choice? I also have a choice. When I called and talked to the Director, and asked why wasn't I informed that I'd be working in close contact with unvaccinated staff his response was "it's a choice". As I recall, the Director said at least one person in about 10 different families had tested positive. I'm not sure how many people caught covid at the Christian Conference Center that week, but it definitely qualified as a super spreader, with probably 300 or more people on the grounds and few people masking. As it turned out, a young family I had dinner with turned out to catch covid during the conference, and exposed me, a 73 year old male. Again, there was no guidance or posted protocol re: masking, vaccination or mention of covid. Of the 250 or so guests, including young children, few people wore masks. If he isn't vaccinated then the Management does not require vaccination. When I asked my Supervisor, an employee, if he was vaccinated, he said 'no, I don't trust the government'. Note, this is a Christian Conference Center teaching biblical principles. I was a bit puzzled, but not too worried since I was vaccinated. It's as if they were treating it as it didn't exist. But in the weekly instructions there was absolutely no mention of covid, none. This was when most businesses had signs stating 'if you are vaccinated you need not wear a mask', etc. When I arrived and got my room key, I looked at weekly schedule and instructions. Room and board for about 6 hours of work per week. Always before it has been a pleasant experience. Last summer, late July, I went to volunteer a week of my time to plant flowers and work on the grounds. I've been to CBCC many times, most often as a volunteer.
